Transitional Living Program
Crandon, Dorchester, Harvard and Morse House, all Transitional Living Programs (TLP) addresses the social, employability and self reliance needs of young men and women between the ages of 17 and 20 ½ years of age as they begin the transition toward more independence. In a less restrictive environment, each young adult has private living space, access to computers and moderate amenities.
The TLP is designed to serve up to thirty young adults (males and females combined). All of the young adults in the program receive intensive case management services while staying in a congregate group home like model or in their own or shared apartments. The program components also include: individual therapy as required, strengthening family support, facilitating life-skills training, coaching, self-reliance, modeling pro social skills and managing budgets.
In order to help the young adults in the TLP achieve a greater success, an emphasis is placed on education and employment. For some that may mean a return to high school or assistance in obtaining their GED certification, attending a trade school or help in obtaining employment.
The program provides 24 hour, 7 days a week supervision, incorporating structured programming as required on an individual basis.
