Shelter Care Services
In partnership with the Department of Children and Family Services and the Department of Corrections, our more traditional programming includes a Specialty Shelter in the Rogers Park community for male youth between the ages of 14 and 18 years of age. These youth arrive at our doorstep with literally just the clothes on their backs, with no where else to go and no one else to turn to. Our immediate goal is to stabilize these youth and to provide them with a safe and nurturing environment. Every young man in the shelter is assigned a case manager and a therapist. As they enter the program they will receive a mental health assessment and an individual treatment plan. While placed at Anchor House they will also receive individual and group sessions and will be provided with a wide variety of case management services, including finding them a suitable placement which will address their needs and the issues confronting them which has prevented stable placement in the past.
Hours of Operation
Anchor House is located in the Rogers Park neighborhood and serves a total of 8 residents on a daily basis. While the center is open and operated 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, accessibility to the facility is during customary business hours Monday - Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Residential Program Supervisor is on-call 24 -7.
